F1 Saudi Arabia GP 2022 Pre-Practice Predictions
There must be sand in my eyes, 'cause I still see Ricciardo in the top 10.
It's the second race of a new era, and we are beginning to gain more data about the season!
We begin with adding this year's data points into the calculation [Column J-M]. This will help set a better trend for how well the drivers are actually doing with their new car and new team (if applicable), as many of the older data points are from their turbo hybrid eras (their F1 lifetime stats). Column Q is the magical ranking I cooked up to see how well the drivers will do this coming Saudi Arabia GP, while Column R is an experiment to see if social media plays a role in helping to pull the numbers up and down depending on whether the news/content are positive or negative. Yep, it's one big giant experiment here!
In general, while Lewis may not have the best car at this moment, he is the driver that can maximize any opportunity or mistakes by his rivals. His experience and numbers prove it, and while I may not choose him for my pools, I still think he is someone to watch in this new era.
It should not be a surprise that the Ferrari drivers are up there. Great drivers paired with an already reliable and fast cars means they are the ones to bank on.
The Alfa & Bottas could be a good or bad surprise in this race. However, considering Bottas did get some good points last year, he may have a bit more confidence on this track.... maybe...
The HAAS moving on up the mid-field is a welcome sight, and I think the next few races will tell us their upward or downward trend. Zhou Guanyu is exactly where I think he should be at this moment. I can see the potential, and I think there will be some ups and downs from that mid-position this year.
I have a feeling McLaren will continue to drop a bit more from the ranking. Ricciardo's higher ranking is primarily due to his last year's performance on that track, but I am not hoping for too much this coming weekend.
Let's see what this second race will bring! Who do you think will be the surprise this coming weekend?
