F1 Canada GP 2022 Pre-Race Report
Dear drivers, sorry about the backpain in advance. - Your friend, Canada.
The Canadian GP is upon us and as a Canadian, I am super excited to see F1 back in the land of poutines and maple syrup!
Today we’ve included a driver score trend graph; plotting driver scores from the season so far (8 races; 9 including CDN). The score is based on before each race began, so race #9 is pre-race CDN.
Here are a few highlights:
Right away, you can see that wiggly brown line that went up in race 2 and then slowly dropped into oblivion. That is unfortunately Mr.Zhou. It makes sense though that at the beginning of a season there are unexpected opportunities for rookies and lower teams. Zhou was an early beneficiary of teams working themselves out in the first few races.
Unfortunately, Albon (mid-blue line declining in the last few races) is not very positive either; He may be not in the limelight but he is trending downward.
You might not see it clearly, but at the bottom of the chart, Russell is climbing slowly. His ascendance seems certain and we foresee a cumulative plus as the season goes on.
While the press ragged on Ricciardo’s performance, he is not as bad as everyone made him out to be. His ups and downs are not as big as everyone makes it out to be. With that said, the expectation for him to perform is as big as everyone makes it out to be.
Lastly, does it look like all Ferrari-powered teams are trending downward? Oh, dear…

Additional Note: I decided to use Column I as the trend rather than than Column Q, because I want to see their trend without their current season points affecting it. I want to see their cumulative historical trends (Column D-H).
Am I reading this wrong or do you have Hamilton as the highest performing racer?
